drug testing & drug rehab Challenge for Companies
Prior to 1996, Eastern Industries conducted random drug testing & drug rehab of its employees, and when workers tested positive, they generally left the company. For example, 43 employees tested positive for drug treatment center in 1995. Thirty-five of those individuals resigned and eight were discharged, leaving Eastern Industries with a sudden loss of 4 percent of its workforce. In an industry that often struggles to find skilled workers, such drug testing & drug rehab outcomes posed their own challenges to the company.
